This is a student tested activity! I have used and perfected the different versions of this with my first grade classes over the last 4 years. I use it as a morning entry task to address the need for additional number sense (long before Common Core) and more involvement in my morning math time. I found that many students just sat and just were not engaged. By having them all problem solve in their Everyday Learning Book, they are all engaged and responsible for learning now!
I have two versions included in this packet. In years past, I have had a sentence on the board with some mistakes in it (Sick Sentence) and they have to write it and fix the errors they find. This year I did not have enough morning time to include that, so I use pages that are strictly math. This is the strictly math version.
Each quarter adds different levels of skill, difficulty and variety for the students, while at the same time keeping it similar which makes it easier for them to work independently so I can roam the room and see how they are doing.
The activities in this resource covers all the Common Core standards throughout the year. It can be used K-2.
