My name is Elaine Shindelar, and this is a math journal designed to be used along with the Everyday Math Unit 2 curriculum for kindergarten. It can also be used as a review for students who are struggling with specific concepts from the unit. For my district, our pacing guide includes the differentiation/reinforcement day each Friday, so I also included activities for those days. Usually they are activities to reinforce or expand upon a topic from a lesson that week.
The pages may appear to be incorrectly right justified, but this makes it much easier to copy and hole-punch the pages to use as a journal. This unit features the teen numbers, so a couple of the reinforcement days include activities related to those tricky teens. I have been using these as something for the kids to do with my assistant during centers, and I have also done them whole group. If you like them, please check out my other math journals, focusing on word problems and other units of Everyday Math.
