This pre-assessment is modeled after the end of the unit Everyday Math unit written assessment. This is given to students prior to starting a unit. After the students are given the assessment, I use the recording sheet to put students into three different groups.
â€¢ Orange= students that seemed to have no idea how to answer the question.
â€¢ Blue= students that seemed to make simple mistakes or had some right answers.
â€¢ Green= students that had the answer correct.
You can use this information to form guided math groups.
