This cheerful song, set to the tune of “The bear went over the mountain", is a great activity to be included in a science lesson about everyday materials. Collect together a wooden chair, a glass, a key, a stone, a plastic pen, a leather belt, a shirt and a paperback book. Ask students to name each object and discuss how we use them and where we would find them. Play a guessing game. Sing each rhyme showing students the material side of the card. Let them guess which object you are singing about. If they are correct, turn the card to reveal the answer.
Part of a set of everyday materials and their properties resources available in my store.
