This presentation is designed for the first week of school as an introduction to conducting science experiments. Topics include: scientific theories, laws, creating a hypothesis, scientific method, observations, qualitative and quantitative data, empirical evidence, precision, accuracy, communication in science, independent vs. dependent variables, constants and controls.
In addition, there are two practice test questions at the end AND a manipulative activity to be done as a "closer" and review of learned concepts. This will take an entire class period to complete and possibly longer.
Included with this presentation is a "fill in the blank" style set of notes that is designed to keep your students engaged during the lesson. The answers for the 'blanks' are located within each slide of the presentation.
**You can view the full set of notes in the preview download.
