PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This is an activity that requires students to analyze accounts of evidence that suggests that Africans explored the Americas prior to the arrival of Columbus. Through a jigsaw activity, students can be grouped based on leveled text and comprehension questions, or by interests. In addition to the leveled texts, included is an activity that requires students to display a written and visual summary of their findings on chart paper. Also included is a graphic organizer to be used in order to record information presented by each group/team. Lastly, there is a writing assignment that requires students write one paragraph detailing which piece of evidence they believe to be most compelling- Focus correct areas included, but can be changed to suite your needs.
