This activity is aligned with the science TEKS 8.5 E where students will be identifying evidence of a chemical change. Students are tested on identifying evidence of chemical change: bubbling/fizzing, temperature change, production of a gas and color change. In this activity students will read scenarios and complete a CER – claim, evidence, reasoning. I use this TEKS 8.5E to introduce CER to my students. Students were given a question and were told that the claim answers the question. Their evidence comes from the scenario and students were asked to draw a picture of the scenario.
