Peppered Moth Simulation Lab - Grade 11 Ontarion Biology Curriculum
This activity demonstrates the affects of the industrial revolution on natural selection of the moth population. Grade 11 Biology students can investigate how natural selection occurs by hunting for moths. Use the attached moth templates and bark sheets provided for this easy to set up lab. Lab worksheet and postal questions are also provided. This can be used as an in class hands on activity as a lesson minds-on or can be used to assess students understanding of natural selection. In this activity you will find detailed instructions to use the lab simulation materials and accompanying lab worksheet. Thanks for purchasing!
Teacher Hack: instead of wasting time cutting out all of the moth shapes if you have a butterfly scrapbook di-cut stamper then it works just as well.
Also you can print the tree bark on white vs. grey card stock to differentiate between the two tree designs more.
