Product Description
This is an exam that I made to use with the
French film le Papillon. This film was suggested in the Bien Dit 3® green French textbook by Holt. I have used it for three years with the Bien Dit 2® blue textbook between Chapter 6 on childhood activities and Chapter 7 on Camping. I have other listings on Imparfait and Camping if you are seeking those topics related to these chapters.

The film also fits in well with the green Bien Dit 3 Chapter 4 on friendship or Chapter 8 Vocabulary 2 as an excerpt on emergencies.

This film works well with my 16 and 17 year old students. There are a few scenes to be prepared for that have -not- preventd me from using this video: a deer poaching scene, a description of a family member's unsuccessful attempt to overdose, a few not rated-G terms a child uses to describe anatomy she learned in school from friends and very few vulgar expressions like Get the h--- out of here.

the movie is filled with wonderful moments that I use to teach about childhood (Chapter 6 in the Bien Dit 2 textbook) the outdoors and camping (Chapter 7 in the Bien Dit 2 textbook).

I have developed all questions on my own. They may have errors and often I paraphrase statements for ease of evaluation. (Example: "Who would say:" so that I can manage test questions for the proficiency level of my students.

Feel free to send me corrections. You are paying for my creative/analytic ideas and time, not my professorial French. (I test at the Advanced Intermediate level and have taught French full time for 19 years now and travel and host natives annually.) I'm not an amature; I just want to be up front about the quality of my work and background.

I hope this saves you time and provides teaching ideas for the film.

I have randomly chosen two questions and answers from each section. There are 65 questions total. It takes at least a 40 minute class period- perhaps more pending your expectations for essay questions. It is formatted to fit on 4 pages.

I recommend this film. My students enjoy it a lot. This listing is for the exam only.
