This task can be used as an activity and/or assessment. It is great for formal or informal observations. Before this task is given students should be familiar with creating linear equations from a table of values, graph and description. Students should also be familiar with finding the slope formula. In this task, students will have to determine the rate of change and initial value of 3 different taxi companies to discover which company will provide the best deal in different situations. The cost of each company is given either in a graph, description, or table of value.
