Product Description
This is a gallery walk designed to serve as an introduction to the Civil Rights unit. It investigates several underlying factors contributing to the inequality of African-Americans in the mid-1900's The lesson contains one page readings on each of the following topics: Plessy v. Ferguson Case, Jim Crow Laws, lynching, voting restrictions, and the KKK's use of terror. A student worksheet including questions for each reading is also included. I give students an allotted time to read one handout in small groups, when the time is up, the groups rotate them. For larger classes, I copy two sets and have separate rotations on each side of the classroom.
