This is an example electronic letter that a principal can send out to teachers in order to share the school initiatives, how the coach will support the initiatives, and contains a survey in the principal's quest to identify teacher leaders for peer coaching cadres and learn what teachers need to be successful. Note: peer coaching cadres are typically formed by the school's coach or someone in a teacher resource position.

Peer coaching is not a new phenomenon, but a lot of schools only focus on having one coach at a school charged with building the capacity of all teachers. This approach not realistic. How can one coach work deeply with every teacher and build school capacity? The answer lies in building a culture of learners by having the coach work to promote teacher leaders (peer coaches) who can coach others as a way to build school capacity.
In my experiences, I have found that leaders at schools sometimes miss opportunities to capitalize on the talents that exist at a school site and that they often overlook teachers who just need a bit of coaching to become amazing teacher leaders.
