I use this packet in my Excel "101" class where we start with the basics and build a solid foundation for Excel usage. Even veteran excel users love this resource as a refresher and for it's tips and tricks. It is a seven page, step-by-step handout that contains many screen shot pictures for helping the student to understand the instructions. Many items described include the ribbon and tabs, cells, columns, rows, worksheets and workbooks. Processes explained include formatting, moving and copying worksheets, Autofill and creating custom lists, formatting as a table, sorting and filtering, charts, common error messages explained, Autosum and basic excel formulas, and much more! I use this packet with my adult learners but it could easily be used for middle and high school levels. It is written at a 5th grade reading level and uses simple explanations for the non-techy student. All the screen shots are from Excel 2016 but most of this packet could be used for earlier versions as the processes are the same.
