There are 40 excursion writing prompts for kids: ideas for tasks to inspire creative writing about their experience. I've included 20 tasks for students who didn't join the excursion, too, just to help. Ideal Back to School writing tasks.
It is a valuable activity to write and explore ideas and experiences after excursions. This offers lots of variety.
It is a great writing centre activity, as the tasks offer individual students enough ideas for students to independently complete work.
There are3 pages with a grid of ideas and suggestions.
The tasks include various genre, for example: narrative, expository, persuasive, journal entries, lists, social media and “how to” instructions.
Students don't share the same experiences, backgrounds and values, so some of them find it difficult to come up with ideas for writing.
I find using tasks and choice as motivation, is supportive and non-threatening.
Please have some ways to share the completed writing: writing for a purpose is essential!
I've included an Australian spelling version on A4 paper: a US version on letter.
Just print the version you want, laminate and they’re ready to go!
I have a similar FREE resource with ideas for writing after vacations too.
Of course, I have other writing resources
These will go perfectly with my Writing Center Display/Organization
You may like to add this to your Writing Corner too!
