Most students are well aware that the executive branch carries out the laws and is led by the president, but beyond that its inner workings are a mystery. This is a shame, since millions of people work for the executive branch. This fun, cooperative game is designed to help students learn about the role the departments play in running the country and enforcing the laws. Students will work together to send cards representing government jobs and programs into the correct “department” by placing them in the appropriate folder. This activity is a great way for students to learn about the executive departments and who is responsible for carrying out the laws.
