This exercise reviews present progressive forms and the formation of the present progressive. There are thirty questions, ten in three sections. The first section asks students to write the present participle of regular verbs, -IR stem-changing verbs, and irregular present participles. The second section gives students the pieces of a sentence. Then they write a complete sentence using those elements and writing the verb in the correct present progressive form. The third section gives students a sentence with two verbs at the end. Students have to choose the correct verb and then write it in the correct form of the present progressive. This exercise is perfect to practice present participles and the present progressive, as a quiz, as a review for a test, or as homework. You could also assign it when your students have a sub.
