Most students will have had experience with personification in commercials and cartoons - even if they didn't call it that. I have included the lessons I have used to teach personification and some suggestions for how to use them in your classroom. I use short lessons at the end of longer writing assignments to give students a break while maintaining the flow of writing workshop.
These seven exercises are short; they can be completed in one lesson. Each of these lessons could be presented as a unit or stand alone topics. I have used them in substitute teacher plans. They could be activities for stations or fast finishers.
This packet contains seven main lessons with some suggestions for extensions and the related printables.
