The purpose of the “DATA” Exit Ticket is threefold:
1) Closure: Students answer 4 questions at the end of every lesson.
D-What did the class DO today?
A-How did you ACHIEVE today’s learning targets?
T-What can you TEACH someone about today’s lesson?
A-What was your AHA! (light bulb) moment or ASK a question about today’s lesson?
2) Data: This serves as a formative assessment to check for understanding. In that aspect, it serves as data for the teacher to address misconceptions during the next class.
3) Quick review for parents: There are still some parents that ask their children what they did in school that day. This serves as a quick reference for students to summarize the day’s lesson.
