This document contains 3 exit tickets on a page for quick formative assessments of understanding.
In this exit ticket, students' ideas on conservation of matter in the context of dissolving are exposed. They are given a scenario, in which sugar is added to unsweetened tea. The student must decide what the weight will be after the sugar is added. On the back of the exit ticket, students explain their answer/describe their thinking. (Teacher answer key with explanation is provided on the cover page that you will receive upon purchase.)
Teachers can quickly assess if their students understand the concept of conservation of matter and can apply it to a real-world example.
