A fun and interactive Before-During-After (BDA) lesson for middle schoolers. It includes a "hook" video embedded in a Prezi (link found in a Word document), a vocabulary sort (great for ELLs and ESEs), the story, and the OREO graphic organizer. Offer Oreo cookies at the end of this lesson! Super easy to implement and engages your students in collaboration and speech.
This is my recommendation:
Vocabulary: Groups of 4 will sort
Call in each group: To give one term/definition
Story: Silent/Independent reading
Graphic Organizer: Groups of 4 will complete and each group will present
Have the students come up with their own opinions. There is no right or wrong. Watch them debating the topic! :)
