Students are asked to roll a number, draw the tens and ones and finally show it in expanded notation.
I create products that I see a need for in my own classroom.
My students love this game! After I introduce expanded form to my students. I have them play this game with two six sided die. They roll the die, write the numbers in the first two boxes. Then they draw it as if those numbers are tens and ones and finally they expand the number in an addition sentence.
My main goal is to create products that can by differentiated to individualize instruction in the classroom.
For this product, to differentiate I give my students who need a challenge a ten sided die. This allows them to sometimes go into the hundreds with zero tens. For my students who struggle, I give them a 6 sided die with only 1, 2, & 3 on it.
