Get them up out of their seats! This fun scavenger hunt supports the following 4th grade Texas math standard:
4.2B (Represent the value of the digit in whole numbers through
1,000,000,000 and decimals to the hundredths using
expanded notation and numerals.)
Includes 10 cards that are to be copied and posted around the classroom. Students begin with any of the expanded notation cards, then "hunt" for the card that has the matching standard form. Then, they work the problem on that card, and begin "hunting" again.
This is a quick activity designed to review expanded notation while getting your students up and moving. Can also be used as an "early bird" activity for students who are finished with their work, and need something to do.
