Use place value to compare and write numbers (expanded form, unit form, numeral form, and word form)! A strong understanding of place value enables students to better understand numbers and how they relate to each other. This product provides multiple opportunities for students to decompose numbers and compare them using place value. Students compare numbers written in different forms, solve word problems, and write numbers in all forms (numeral, expanded, unit, and word). This product includes four days of practice pages and then a quiz which assesses student understanding. This can be used as morning work or for small group differentiated instruction. I have used this in my class as a quick and easy way to assess student understanding and gather data for our standards based report cards. The quiz can also be used as a pre assessment to determine present levels of understanding.
