A Step-by-Step approach to helping students expand simple sentences. What you will find in this resource is a set of three lessons that will guide your students through the process of expanding simple sentences. They will learn how to take a very basic sentence, with a subject and a predicate, and expand it into compound and complex sentences by asking questions such as who, what, when, where, why, and how. They will be guided step-by-step through the process of expanding sentences using a gradual release method where they work whole group, in pairs, and finally on their own. Students will become expert sentence expanders by the end of the lesson set.
Each lesson set includes:
* Full standards-based lesson plan
* All printables necessary for your students
