Description

This creative writing file contains a presentation that you may share with students via email, Google Drive, or in-person. The presentation covers expectations for creative writing and is both editable and digital friendly (please share on Google Classroom or email).

Explain to students how writing is a collaborative effort and that they will successfully build upon prior knowledge to succeed with writing. Before diving into creative writing lesson plans and peer editing, I set expectations with secondary writers.

In a creative writing unit or class, I establish with students that they their effort and willingness to collaborate is what makes the class successful. Students must take advice and input from adults and peers during creative writing lessons. Sharing this presentation sets students up for success. I often share pieces of this with parents during meet-the-teacher night.
