Alternate assessment for the mid-unit assessment, lesson 8 on the fourth stanza of "If." Like most EL assessments, the original assessment contains low-level Venn diagrams, only two right-or-wrong questions, and open-ended responses that aren't very useful for data-driven instruction.

My version contains 7 Common Core-aligned multiple-choice questions, one paraphrasing response, and a written response. The test includes the text for the poem "If" and a link to the read aloud on YouTube. Also, each question has been assigned a point value so you can grade out of 100, and each is labeled according to the appropriate Common Core standard.
