This is the lesson given the day after doing an experiment on pH!
Household items were tested with litmus paper to determine pH. Before testing, students guessed the pH of each item. The following day, we used this powerpoint to review and further investigate! This powerpoint also includes a review of pH, acids, bases, pH scale, etc etc.
Complete the experiment on Day 1, and this Investigation Station Powerpoint on Day 2!
Investigation Stations: I set up stations around the room with items representing the active ingredient in each item we had tested, and had the students go around with "observation sheets", guessing which station corresponded with each previously tested item. (ALL INSTRUCTIONS INCLUDED- FOR EXPERIMENT & REVIEW STATIONS).
After students complete stations, we use this lesson to learn about the active ingredient in all these items that make them acidic or basic! SUPER FUN!
