I developed this resource as part of a multi-age science class taught for home school students. The students kept a lab journal (I would usually make copies of the procedures and they would glue them in their journals, until their writing skills improved) and would write down observations and conclusions as we worked. I encouraged them to draw diagrams of the experiments.
In this project, students pick ONE of the labs we did in a unit and write up a "formal" lab report. The zip file includes:
1) A three page Word document that includes background on writing lab reports, directions to the students and the grading rubric.
2) A seven page PDF file that shows student examples (from two students, grade 2 and 4).
