Product Description
Teachers Pay Teachers, Word, Excel, Starbucks,Target. What do all of these have in common with each other? They have recognizable icons that have some sort of meaning to us. I know when I see the Starbucks icon or logo, that means COFFEE!!

In this freebie, students will work individually, in groups or as a whole class to cooperatively create an icon for vocabulary that has meaning to them. I have added an icon for each that I created. Those icons by no means have to be used. They should be unique to each individual or to the class itself. I put these icons around my class as visual reminders of the vocabulary we are learning at that time.
You can create them electronically, draw them, or have each group work on one word and draw out the icon.

In my classroom, I use Icons for everything and it has made a HUGE difference with my students. The icons do not have to be for just a single vocabulary words, I have used a single icon for an entire unit. Try it! It will work!

Have fun and be creative!
