Students review experimental design by identifying the parts of example experiments (title, hypothesis, independent variable, levels of independent variable, dependent variable, constants, control, and number of trials). Cut out the octogons and laminate (or tape) the scenario with its identified parts back to back. Students can practice identifying the parts in various ways, such as:
~ write with a dry erase marker on the laminated product.
~ clip labeled clothes pins on the papers (teacher pre-label clothes pins with the parts of the experiment - great for kinesthetic learners!)
