The Exploding Book Box is a take on a common photo box craft project I've done. Students use this instead of the typical book report to review the information they read about. This incorporates creativity, comprehension, writing skills, following directions, and much more. Students write a summary, write quotes, draw the main character, describe the main character, and review vocabulary. I have included a "Teacher How-to" with pictures on how I assemble the box so you can practice and explain it to the students. This project should be printed on two 11"x17" pieces of paper (usually the bottom drawer of a copy/printer machine).
