My students and I are so excited each year about these Biographical Explorer Projects! After we lay the groundwork in class about the historical age of exploration, students set off on their own journeys of discovery. Each student selects an explorer for research, gathers data, writes a biography, and prepares an explorer cut-out to share, such as the ones shown here.
No matter what type of exploration you are studying, this versatile project pack works perfectly. We’ve done all sorts of explorer research—from polar explorers to South American exploration, from American frontiersmen to space travel—this unit adapts easily for whatever your focus of study.
Looking for an independent study for Genius Hour? Studying explorers? Want to teach your students to research or write biographies? Then this resource is for you!
Contents include assessments, rubrics, photos, writing papers, recommended books and videos, project ideas, class notes, printable posters, and MORE!
Thanks so much! Shannon
