This project will allow students to become more familiar with an unfamiliar explorer. The students will choose an explorer from a list provided and fill out a brainstorm question sheet while researching. They will then summarize the information they have collected and create a professional looking trading card. There are also also for creating an antique map of their explorers' routes. The students are also asked to write from the perspective of the explorer. This activity allows students to practice their researching skills, writing with voice, and summarizing skills while learning about a social studies topic.
