The intention of this project is to reacquaint students with the research process as a means to build on historical knowledge of four major periods in British history in order to create an original character through the creative writing process in the form of short fiction, poetry, and/or drama. Though this project may be used as a stand-alone lesson, ideally, I suggest that it be used in conjunction with other units (i.e. poetry, drama, etc.) to allow students “in the moment” opportunities for application of what they learn.
