Polar Bears and Penguins are always a favorite in my class. And it is a good opportunity to teach opposites by comparing these polar animals.

-Writing Organizers to help with Topic Sentence (Comparative Statement), 3 details, and a Conclusion Sentence.
Center Activities include:
-Sentence Pieces - Build 10 sentences using word cards. Includes sentence strips for youngers to aide in building sentences by matching words, word cards, and recording sheet. Sentences include opposite information about Penguins and Polar Bears.
-Polar Opposite Pairs - Practice by matching 9 pairs of antonym word cards (includes recording page).
-Penguin or Polar Bear Graphs- After students have studied and gathered information, they choose their favorite picture card, penguin or polar bear. This will be used to complete the 2 graphs as well as the their writing organizer.
