Exploring Weather-Concepts of Heating and Cooling
Product Description
A two-part experiment that allows students to explore the concept of heating and cooling that shows how different substances that comprise the Earth's surface will heat and cool at different rates and helps to develop the basis for understanding local weather phenomenons. The first part looks at the idea of conduction versus radiation heating and the specific heat of water. While the second part allows the students to delve into why land mass and water mass heat at different rates. Within these experiments, there is also the opportunity to explore what happens is the heat is trapped within the environment so that students can start to understand the impact of green house gasses.
