Product Description
In this activity, students use 5" by 8" index cards to create cylinders of approximately the same surface area. One cylinder is meant to be shorter and wider and one cylinder is meant to be taller and thinner. Students make predictions about the volume of these cylinders and then use Lima Beans to compare the volumes. Through this activity students will discover that although two cylinders may have the same surface area, the wider the cylinder that more volume it has.
