Exponent Rules Differentiated Activity. My 8th graders love this hurdle-style activity...fun, competitive review of exponent rules! These will give lots of practice with simplifying expressions with positive and negative exponents. I usually have my students work in pairs. In order to move to the next hurdle, they must answer all correct. To save time, you could also have students answer 5 in a row correct before moving on. First team finished is the winner.
Other uses for this activity:
*Differentiation - 6 different levels will ensure all students reach their academic goals.
6 "hurdles", or levels, get progressively more difficult. This packet provides many opportunities to differentiate with your students.
