Exponent Rules Scavenger Hunt
The objective of this scavenger hunt activity is to practice simplifying expressions using the following properties of exponents: product rule, power, and quotient rule. There are 12 total problems that just need to be printed and posted throughout the classroom and hallway. Students are put into groups of 2-3 and assigned a starting problem. They write down and simplify the expression using the rules. Their answer leads them to the next problem. The answer to their last problem will lead them back to their first. I was very pleased with how this turned out, and how well it helped my students understand these concepts.

This activity does not include negative exponents, as I teach that as my next lesson. If you are interested, I have a Koosh Ball Game related to all the rules, including negative exponents.
