This set of task cards works great with individuals, partners, small groups, or even centers. Several resources are provided to allow you to use this activity to best suit your classroom! An exciting feature is the inclusion of QR codes encoded with the answers so students can use their own electronic devices to check their own work.
You will find 32 cards requiring students to apply the properties of exponents to simplify expressions. There are 16 cards that use a single property, 10 cards that combine one or more property, and 6 cards that require students to evaluate expressions.
The QR codes are an exciting addition! Do you find yourself overwhelmed when all your students want you to check their answers while you are trying to help a struggling student? If you are in a technology-enabled classroom, students can use any device with a QR reader to scan the code and immediately access the answers. You do not need to have Internet access for the codes to work.
Differentiation is so important in the classroom, but sometimes it is time-consuming to plan and implement. This resource was designed to make it easy for you to differentiate effectively. You can create different sets of cards to meet your students' needs. If you have struggling learners, it may be appropriate to give them just a few cards at a time with similar problems. If you have accelerated students, you may want to give them only the cards combining rules. Once you print the cards, it is very easy to just pull out the pages you want and copy them for different groups.
