This is a Tarsia Puzzle that has all of the different exponent rules: product of powers, power to power, negative, quotient of powers, powers of quotients, and zero. The triangles' edges match up to form a hexagon.
I did the hexagon puzzle in class one day but the students weren't ready. I later used the same problems but in the tile format and used it with expanded form (just the variables) and the students did much better.
The triangle pieces
The tile pieces (that can be cut for mix and match)
as well as the Expanded worksheet I did in class where the students wrote out the expanded form of the variables and used it to find the answer card.
