PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

I like for my students to discover how to write a formula for a decaying exponential instead of just giving them the formula. I wrote this worksheet to help that process along. In working out this worksheet, students look into the case of money losing its purchasing power due to inflation, and they also consider a case of a car that loses 10% of it value each year. By the end of the worksheet, they are able to write formulas for exponential decay.

I use this activity within cooperative groups, and I circulate to make sure they are getting the purpose of the questions.

The file includes spiral review problems.

This worksheet is intended to be written on directly.

Please download the pdf preview file first, so you can see exactly what's included; the product file is a word document, which you may personalize for your students.
