Assess your students' understanding of exponential growth by engaging them in this fun "Math in the News!" activity! Students will graph and write an exponential growth function from a real world problem involving Snapchat app users. Students will reason quantitatively in the context of this problem.
I use this activity as a fun way to assess understanding after teaching students about exponential growth. I allow students to work in partners for the activity, and then I have them complete the three independent practice problems on their own.
Want a fun way to engage your students? Many of them use Snapchat. Ask them to take a selfie using one of the fun filters and submit it to you via email so that you can display the images during the related activity.
Have fun watching your students engage in this concept like never before. Step away from boring procedures and get them to apply their skills!
