Students will recognize the natural exponential function (thin curve) and its inverse natural logarithmic function (thick curve). Encourage students to make connections between the equations of the function and its inverse function. For example, if the exponential graph is shifted up 1 unit, then its inverse is shifted right 1 unit, etc.
Students must recognize the characteristics of domain and range as well as horizontal and vertical asymptotes for each graph and function.
The graphs progress from simple to more difficult.
