This project packet contains 20 pages. It contains: teacher directions, grading rubric, four versions for student handout, and detailed solutions for each version.
In this project, the student is given an xy-table of an exponential function and is expected to calculate the equations that fit the data. The form of the solution equation is y = a b^(x-h) + k. The solution requires systems of equations logic and logarithms.
The project should be assigned at the end of the exponential and logarithmic functions chapter. One to two weeks should be allowed for the students to submit their answers. If you feel it is necessary for your class, a Guided Solution lecture is provided for you to present to your class, either by lecture, handout, or both.
