This Animated Algebra interactive film in Flash SWF format is an animated story problem with 4 multiple choice questions. A 22 minute lesson and a second story problem are sold separately. The file can be downloaded onto a PC or Mac. There are 10 pages of worksheets for the lesson and story problems that can be downloaded for just $1
This first story problem, "Kristen's Credit Catastrophe", is a 6 minute interactive video with 4 Q and A. Kristen uses her new credit card to buy $1,000 of stuff and plans to pay the balance later, after she gets a job. The card has an 18% annual interest rate with monthly accrual and she uses the exponential growth model to calculate how much the balance will grow over time.
The Animated Algebra series of interactive educational films was created by animator/educator Karen Lithgow to teach Algebra I concepts in a FUN, LIVELY and INTERACTIVE format. All of the lessons and story problems are presented in unique and colorful settings with entertaining sound effects and visual elements. The math concepts are explained and demonstrated in a CLEAR FASHION and LOGICAL SEQUENCE so that the students can fully understand them.
The lessons align with the new common core standard for algebra.

I have learned that on some people’s computers SWF files do not open simply.
The videos are made using SWF files.
If once you download the files and are not able to open them please read below:
When you try to open up the file, a pop up screen may say that your computer can’t open it. This is what you need to do.
Step 1 Download the SWF files from Teachers Pay Teachers
Step 2 Go to your computer’s start up menu and find the DOWNLOADS file folder click on it
Step 3 Scan your DOWNLOADS until you find the SWF files or PDF files with the titles you downloaded under it. (I noticed when I used a computer that did not have ADOBE PROFESSIONAL on it, the files saved as a PDF files instead of as a SWF files.)
Step 4 Minimize the screen
Step 5 Open internet web screen (Google Chrome is good)
Step 6 Minimize web screen temporarily
Step 7 Click and drag the DOWNLOADED files to the web screen browser
Step 8 The DOWNLOADED files should open quickly
If you are planning on using the product on a smart board, you can drag the flash swf file right into an open smart board notebook page and it will run there.
The Animated Algebra programs are fully interactive! The pause and play buttons allow students and teachers to pause the action whenever they want more time to study or discuss the material. Navigation buttons on the lesson films also allow the viewer to repeat or move to another section.
