Do you need a new, interesting ways to re-teach or review squares and square roots in your math class?
Try this engaging activity that gives your students a variety of options for learning in pairs and individually!
Each card set includes 30 pairs of colorful (along with matching black/white) cards.
Set 1: Squared numbers and their solution
Set 2: Square roots and their solution
Both sets can be combined or used separately for 4 unique activities:
1) Matching- students match and glue pairs to turn in as a form of assessment
2) Memory- partners can place the cards face down and take turns attempting to find matches; the person with the most pairs at the end of the game is the winner
3) Go Fish- played just like the original game, instead these cards are used as the "deck of cards"
4) War- after shuffling the cards, students split the deck, each getting 15 (or 30 if combining sets). They both flip over the card at the same time. The person with the highest card keeps both. If the cards are equal each person lays down 4 cards, flipping over the 4th card, the person with the largest card receives all the cards in play. First person to get all the cards wins.
