This is an article about constructing a thesis, topic and evidence for expository writing. It talks about TAP (topic, purpose, audience) and the different kinds of expository writing. There are four activities including a short quiz.
This includes an article and 4 activities.
Activity 1 is a scavenger hunt which helps each student close read the article and pick out the details.
Activity 2 is a quiz that analyzes the article’s writing as well as the content of the article.
Activity 3 is a vocabulary sheet that allows students to see the words used within the text, absorb the definition, and then use the word in a sentence of their own.
Activity 4 is a parts of speech activity that helps with recognition of different parts of speech within writing of an article.
