Students use this document as a thorough checklist to go through a peer's paper with them and make revisions together (for the previous step of self-editing, please check my store for a very similarly thorough item!). The document is strategically designed for the teacher to be able to quickly see at a glance, rather than having to read it, whether or not the students completed the task. There are places where it is required to have highlighting, numbering, etc...so that when the teacher "checks it in", they can see if it is complete in less than five seconds per student. IT'S GENIUS! If all steps are checked off and are ACTUALLY complete, the student is able to advance to the next step in the writing process, which is typing the next draft or the final draft.
To differentiate, each section could be cut into daily chunks, for those who need accommodations and for those that need to be challenged, they could be expected to peer-edit and have their paper peer-edited by multiple peers.
This could also be done at home with a parent as peer-editor, for homework.
