Expository Rubric Round Robin Grading Activity: Test Prep.
"Learn to think like an evaluator!"
Next time you have your students write an expository essay, do not spend hours grading, let the students do it! --- Okay, well it isn't quite that easy, but ALMOST! ---- This activity will have you pass grading off to the students, but you are teaching them what evaluators (at the state level) are looking for when grading writing an expository essay. This is their chance to critically and fairly evaluate the writing of their peers. With this activity it is almost guaranteed your students will never look at writing the same way again. They are going to know what they need to be aware of and what is being scrutinized by state level evaluators.
Not only is this an amazing learning experience, saves you hours of grading, but it also helps your students prepare for those pesky tests in a way that is enjoyable and gets them moving around the classroom.
